Bus tickets and commuter card
If travelling on the Västerås–Arlanda airport line, you can buy a ticket from the driver. Tickets cost SEK 20 in addition to the standard ticket price (as published on vy.se) and are subject to available space.
Tickets for Vy Bus4You and Vy express are not personal. You can buy a ticket for someone other than yourself. The important thing is for the person travelling to have the ticket. Passengers must be able to confirm their age and right to discount, e.g. if travelling on a youth or student ticket.
We send a text message in the event of delays and other relevant information on your journey. It’s also easier for Customer Service to find your ticket if you have lost it.
Yes, we can do so if you state that you want to receive your ticket via a text message when booking, and give us the correct mobile number. Tickets can only be sent by text message when booking, and cannot be sent afterwards.
Yes, buses can be fully-booked, and we therefore recommend buying tickets in advance.
We sell tickets to other bus companies in our channels. These carriers have their own buses, drivers and categories for discounted travel, terms of carriage etc. However, if you buy the ticket via us, our rules apply for the actual ticket (such as purchasing, forms of payment, confirmation, cancellation, right to withdraw, etc).
You can only travel on the departure stated on the ticket.

Yes, anyone travelling with Vy Bus4You and Vy express needs their own ticket.
Yes, pets need their own ticket when travelling with Vy Bus4You and Vy express.

Yes, if you have not reserved a specific seat, you can change seats during the journey.
Everyone travelling with Vy Bus4You and Vy express will have a seat. If you want to sit in a specific seat on our buses, you must reserve that seat when purchasing your ticket. You will then be guaranteed the same seat for your entire journey.
We offer a range, including 10, 20, 25 and 50 journeys. They apply for travel with Vy Bus4You and Vy express.
A commuter card is a great option if you travel frequently on the same route with Vy Bus4You or Vy express. It involves pre-paying for a set number of journeys in advance. The benefit is that you know in advance what that will cost, and the price per trip is often significantly lower than if you buy one trip at a time.

Commuter cards are only sold at vybuss.com and apply for travel with Vy Bus4You and Vy express. When you buy a commuter card, you select which route you wish to travel on. Trips using your card are valid on a set route in either direction. You should then select which ticket category the card should apply to (adult, young person, student, etc.).

Vy Bus4You is for anyone who wants to travel in comfort for a reasonable price. Vy Bus4You offers two levels of comfort: Plus and Economy. Plus features luxury seating with lots of space and leg room.
Vy express is a budget service with economy seating only.
Vy Bus4You and Vy express belong to Vy Travel AB.
All departures in the booking flow are tagged with either Vy Bus4You or Vy express. You select which level of comfort you want: Plus (1st class) or Economy (2nd class). Vy express services are run by our partners. Information on which partner is operating a given departure is given in the booking flow.
Our buses have two levels of comfort, which can be compared to 1st and 2nd class on a train, or Economy and Business class on a plane.
You can always find comfort level Plus on Vy Bus4You, and sometimes Economy as well. Plus is always available on the top deck of our double deckers at the front of the bus, and Economy is always on the lower deck. Economy can also be found at the back of some of our buses. Plus means that you ride in luxury seats, with leg rests for maximum seat comfort, and plenty of leg room. Plus has a row of single seats and another with double seats (1+2 seating) with more of these seats at the front of the bus. Free WiFi (4G) is available onboard and power sockets are fitted by each seat.
Vy express only has Economy seating. You will sit in comfortable, reclining standard seats designed for long journeys. Economy has two rows of double seats (2+2 seating). You can reserve your favourite seat for a more comfortable journey. There are free WiFi and power sockets on board on most buses operated by Vy express.

Cancellation and changing bus ticket
If you have cancellation insurance on your ticket, you can cancel right up to one hour before departure time (outbound, if you have a return ticket).
If your ticket is on vy.se:
- Log in to My account and go to My trips, click on Details for the relevant trip. Click on Cancel booking on the trip’s details page.
- You can also contact Customer Service.
To cancel a ticket bought via vybuss.com, enter your booking number with the phone number you gave us when booking. Your booking number consists of a 12-digit code.
Cancellation insurance can only be purchased with a ticket. However, it is possible to amend your ticket for an additional charge.
- If you have cancellation insurance for your ticket, you can cancel your ticket until one hour prior to departure.
- If you have cancellation insurance for your return trip and use the outbound journey, it is still possible to cancel the return journey until one hour prior to its departure time.
- If your ticket covers one or more parts of a journey, the whole trip will be cancelled.
- If you have a ticket for several passengers travelling on the same ticket number, you can cancel for one or more of the party. Select the tickets you want to cancel, and confirm.
- If you have paid using a credit card, the money will be refunded to your account.
- If you opted to pay by invoice but have not yet paid the balance, the outstanding balance will be adjusted by Klarna.
- Cancellation protection will not be refunded in the event of cancellation.
- Tickets booked on vy.se can be cancelled at vy.se, tickets booked on vybuss.com can be cancelled at vybuss.com and tickets booked on vybuss.no can be cancelled at vybuss.no. Tickets bought from agents or over the phone can be cancelled by contacting the agent or by phone respectively.
No cancellation insurance?
If you did not buy cancellation insurance, you can cancel your ticket, but no refund will be made. A ticket with no cancellation insurance cannot be rebooked. Cancellation insurance cannot be purchased after you have bought a ticket.
You can rebook your ticket up to one hour prior to the time of departure on your current ticket. If you have cancellation insurance then you can rebook your ticket at no extra charge up to two times. Please note that following the second rebooking, you will no longer have cancellation insurance for your ticket and it will not be possible to receive a refund in the event of cancellation.In the event of cancellation, our standard cancellation rules will apply.
If you wish to rebook a ticket without cancellation insurance, this is possible at a charge of SEK 39 per person and per rebooking.
Once in a while, things may change! Cancellation insurance is reassuring to have, and can be bought at the same time as your ticket.
Cancellation insurance costs 15 per cent (or max. SEK 49) and is based on your shopping cart. If you have cancellation insurance on your ticket, you can cancel right up to one hour before departure time.
If you decided to not buy cancellation insurance, you can cancel your ticket, but there will be no form of refund.
Cancellation insurance can only be purchased with a ticket.
